How do I book a princess party, and how far in advance should I book?

Booking a Special K Princess Party is easy and designed to be hassle-free! After deciding which package and character fits your needs simply fill out your information in the online Request a Quote form. You can also reach out using the contact page if you request additional information or want to discuss more details first.

It is recommended to book your princess party as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. If your requested event date is unavailable, you will be contacted immediately to discuss scheduling options. 
Upon receiving your booking contract via email, you will have 1 week to submit payment and return the completed contract in order to secure your party date. If payment and contract are not received within a week, you will be notified that your pending status is lost and you will need to resubmit a booking request form. 


Once completed booking contract & payment is received, a confirmation summary will be emailed to you. Only then is your party date officially secured.  A follow-up email will be sent about a week out from your party. Any tentative details must be finalized & communicated in response to the email.

Do you require a deposit?

A non-refundable reservation fee is due upon booking as a deposit to hold your date. This deposit is a percentage of your total amount due, not an additional charge.

If you instead choose to pay the Total Event Amount in full when submitting your booking contract, no further actions are required. If you choose to only pay the reservation deposit, your remaining balance will be due 1 week out from your event. Any unpaid balance less than 5 days prior to the event date will result in a cancellation. If this occurs, the reservation fee will be retained or can be put towards a new available future event if requested. **A benefit to paying your total amount upfront is to avoid possibly having your appearance cancelled if the deadline is not met** 

(Tips are always appreciated for a job well done, but never required!)

What is your 
rescheduling policy?

If you wish to reschedule your party please contact as soon as possible to discuss all options. Your reservation fee/amount already paid will carry over to the newly confirmed event date. There are no additional rescheduling fees.

It is very unlikely, but please note that an appearance may be cancelled due to serious or contagious illness, dangerous weather, or a performer's family emergency. Under these circumstances the reservation fee/amount paid will be put towards a new available event date along with a coupon for a future event.

What do I need to do to prepare?

All you will need to provide are the basic necessities for your event: location, decorations, and whatever you will need for the party before the Princess arrives/after she leaves. The Princess will come prepared with supplies and props for the activities during her stay. Character performers are trained to keep every child engaged and entertained for the duration of the visit, all while being flexible to include any specific requests or needs you may have. The "Special Requests and Instructions" field on the booking form is a great space to mention your child’s particular interests or list helpful information to tailor the experience uniquely to you!

Special K Princesses will make magic happen anywhere-- all that is needed is your venue of choice. Some of the most common locations are community centers, event venues, public park pavilions, and (of course) house parties. Please be mindful of the conditions and have a backup plan for outdoor parties should there be inclement weather. A $25 Travel Fee may apply if your event location is over a 60-mile drive for the performer.

If you are having other entertainment services or major activities during your party such as a bounce-house, balloon artist, magician, piñata, waterslide, etc., it is highly encouraged to keep these potential distractions off limits during the duration of the character appearance. This will ensure you get the most out of your magical Special K Princess experience from start to finish.

What can I expect on the day of my party? Will the Princess take care of everything?

While every party package is different and tailored to your unique experience, there is a general format you can expect on the day of your event:

You will receive a text or call from the Princess about 5-10 minutes before arrival to discuss making her grand entrance. Once arrived, she will greet the children and usually perform a special ceremony for your birthday child. Performers are experts at "reading the room" to know if a child is overwhelmed or awestruck, so the next interactions may be geared toward helping them become more comfortable with the Princess. Depending on the party package chosen and your requests, activities such as crafts, sing-alongs, and various games will happen next. Every magical moment will be filled with fun!

There is always time set aside for any of the party guests to take pictures with the Princess. Once you’ve gotten all the pictures you want, she would love to join in singing Happy Birthday and help your child make a wish as he or she blows out the candles. Before the visit comes to a close, the Princess will sneak in one (or two) more final hugs good-bye as she heads back to her carriage.

Will the Princess at my party look, sound, and act like the "real" one?

You are guaranteed to receive the highest quality when you choose Special K Princesses, from a performer who has over 10 years of acting experience and vocal training to stunning gowns that have been custom made and hair that is perfectly in place. Each character has a specific set of attributes that are never compromised: personality traits, demeanor, posture, makeup, voice, jewelry... even down to the signature she autographs! Hundreds and thousands have been invested into costuming and obtaining the appropriate elements for the individual princesses. These details do not go unnoticed and truly make the difference! Character integrity is of upmost importance, and you deserve the very best for your investment.

Performers DO NOT break character around children (or adults, preferably). Please be respectful of the performer's hard work in keeping the magic real for the children and accommodate as needed. This includes avoiding any "uncharacteristic" conversations and providing a discrete entrance/exit into and from the event.

What is the ideal age for a princess party?

All people love princesses, whether young or the young at heart! The magic of meeting a princess charms all ages and anyone can appreciate a good princess party. Some of the most heartwarming moments come from parents and grandparents getting to meet their favorite classic princess they grew up with.

Parties are often booked for children between the ages of 1 and 13-- the most popular age range is 3 to 8 years old. However, you know your child better than anyone else, so you are the best judge of what would make your little prince or princess happy!
